2009: Are You Ready?
January 1st, 2009Ready or not, today the new year is here. Seems like the older I get, the faster the years go. Not only that, but the world around me seems to be changing faster and faster.
Talk about a transitional year! So much has happened that we never would have expected - a new president elect, and the hope of a fix for the problems our country faces, including a financial mess that exceeds anyone’s imagining. The result is being called a major depression, and it is causing those of us who have savings for retirement do some double takes on what may have happened to them. In the wake of scandal, companies that either went belly-up or got bought out, a housing slump, the problems of the auto industry and all the other challenges our country faces, we need to make sure we are on top of any resulting changes in our own situations.
Whether we face personal transitions in the coming year, or we expect a year of relative calm on the home front, peace of mind comes when we know we have things under control. To this end, I encourage all of us to review important areas of our lives to make sure we are prepared and keeping up with the changes around us.
That is the goal of this blog, and my hope is that helpful information and ideas can flow to the areas of your life that need attention. You can be ready!
May you have a prosperous and happy new year!
